The great thing about this riff is that while it's fairly complicated, you can still sing it.

You know what that lick reminds me of? Another Freddie King song - the first three notes of "The Welfare Turns Its Back On You" (before he starts singing). Similar kind of thing.

Also, there are major and minor triads that come out of the diminished scale that you can move around in minor thirds too. pretty cool and very useful.
